NFL Conference Championships Games Are Set AFC NFC

The big game in the NFL is getting close now.  With the AFC playoffs and the NFC playoffs over.  Now it is time for the NFL Conference Championship games to begin.  On Sunday the 24th at 3:00 pm you will have eyes glued to the TV to see the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts face off for the AFC.  This game could go both ways, as any game could, but after the Colts took down Baltimore 20-3 last week it might not be looking good for the Jets.  I will be in front of my TV when the game starts and I plan on watching every minute of this one.

The Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints will represent the NFC Conference this year at 6:40 pm on Sunday.  Favre vs. Brees, as it looks like in this game.  With last weeks scores of 45 and 34 for these teams.  The balls will be flying the whole game and look for Rice the Wide Receiver for Minnesota to be catching everything that comes his way.

The pointspreads on the the games this Sunday look like this:

Indianapolis Colts giving 7 1/2 to the New York Jets.

New Orleans Saints getting 3 1/2 points from the Minnesota Vikings.

Who has the best chance to get to the big game?  Leave your comments and let us know who you think has the best game to win.

Deuce McAllister Resigned With The New Orleans Saints

TAMPA, FL - SEPTEMBER 16: Running back Deuce M...

McAllister has been out of football for just about a years time.  In a closed practice at the Saints suburban training field the start running back participated not too long ago.  “I’m speechless,” McAllister said. “I don’t know that there are words to describe this feeling. I do know that we have some unfinished business that we started a few years ago and we want to finish the deal.”  The coach of the New Orleans Saints, Sean Payton said that they first talked about making McAllister and unofficial guest captain just a few weeks ago.

Deuce McAllister has 55 total touchdowns and 49 of them are rushing TD’s.  That with a total of 6,096 career rushing yards has made for an outstanding career.  Standing 6 foot 1 inch and 230 pounds, McAllister all makes for a above average pass-blocker as well. Back in 2005, he got his first major injury, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.  Then in 2007 he went through the same injury but in the left knee this time.  He did manage to play hurt in the 2008 season after have minor cleanup operations and fluid drained form his left knee on a regular basis.  Working on his own in Jackson, Miss. and as well with Dr. James Andrews, and orthopedic surgeon in Florida, since the Saints released him last February to get back into top shape.

We will have to see what the Saints have to offer now that they have Deuce McAllister back in the line-up.  Maybe this is just what they need to make a great team even better?

Patrick Kane Signs His Name For A Good Cause

Hockey012

On New Year’s day Patrick Kane saw one of the young kid’s skate out onto the ice when the announcement of the Olympic team was going on.  He noticed that one young girl was wearing his USA Hockey Jersey.  At that moment he ran to Brandon Faber the Blackhawks PR man and let him know about finding this young girl and getting the Jersey signed.

“I was trying to make the situation for her and her family even better than it already was,” Kane said. “It might help the reputation, but I wasn’t thinking about that when I went up to Brandon.”

“I think it was really cool,” Kane, only 21, said. “It really makes you feel good. It seems like she was pretty excited in her letter that we were able to get it done. I thought it was a real easy gesture that I could pull off for the girl, just sign the jersey for her and do the right thing.”

In my opinion it seem that he was just trying to do something great for a young hockey fan. If only more of the pro. NHL players, and any other sport, would do this more often then they might get a little more from the fans.  I understand that many of the professional sports players give a lot, but sometimes its the small things that might get them noticed even more.

Cleveland Cavaliers Move to Second Round With a Sweep

The Cavaliers became the third team in NBA history – along with the 1980 Celtics and 2004 Pacers to sweep a team by winning each game by double-digits.  LeBron James and  Mo Williams were on fire for game 4 against  the Pistons getting a combined 33 points in the first half of the game.  For LeBron, he ended with a total of 36 points, 13 boards, and 8 assists in that final game against Detroit on Sunday.  Mo Williams had a playoff high game with 24 points, 16 of them cam in the first half, and he also had 4 assists and a pair of steals to go along with them.

This sweep is going to be a great thing for the Cavaliers, as they could get a full week or more to rest their pains while they watch and wait to see who they will be facing in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.  On a good note Cleveland, under Mike Brown, are now 16-4 in the first round of the postseason and they is something to be very proud of.  They will have a difficult task in front of them but for right now they seem to be the team to beat.

“I think (the killer instinct) has grown with the success we’ve had in the playoffs and the maturity level that we have,” said LeBron. “And it’s continuing to grow. We have that killer instinct. We have it at this point.”

“I think our fans came from all parts of Ohio to Michigan to give us their support,” beamed LeBron. “It was great. I respect our fans for that. Even though tonight was a road game they made it feel as if we had a home crowd here. They were amazing.”
