Andy Pettitte made it clear that he would like to return to the New York Yankees next year. But the Yankees have not made an offer to the 36 year old left hander, forcing him to file for free agency sunday afternoon.

“I let them know a few weeks ago I’d like to come back and play,” Said Pettitte. Andy Pettitte went 14-14 last season with a 4.54 ERA. His last half of the season was not his best showing at all, going 2-7 with a 6.23 ERA in his last 11 starts.

If it is not the New York Yankees, the Louisiana native will find him self in another clubs starting rotation. Pettitte was the 169th free agent going into this off season.
