World Series game suspended with a tie in Philly.
Mother nature would not let up on Tuesdays ball game in Philadelphia. The rain started to poor through out the first few innings, resolving in the suspension of the game.
The game was stopped in the middle of the 6th inning with score tied 2-2. In the 1st inning Shane Victorino singled to left, scoring Utley and Burrell. Later in the 4th Longoria hit his own single scoring Pena from second. With the score being 2-1 and the rain flooding the field, Carlos Pena drove in Upton, tying the game at 2.
That was the last inning of baseball played monday night, with the umpires coming together to suspend game 5 of the World Series. The game was originaly schedueld for a tuesday but the rain would not let up in Philadelphia, so Wednesday night at 8 ET the game will resume.
Questions are still being asked on how many people will be able to return to the soggy ball park, and bring there ticket stubs from mondays game. The ballpark can hold over 45,000 people, and surely people will not be able to return to the game. The World Series TV ratings are already down 25 percent from last year, and this suspension could drop these ratings even lower.
The game is scheduled for 8ET on Wednesday night.
